KINUE HITOMI - ŽENA, KTERÁ PREDBEHLA DOBU.
OD HITOMI K TOKIU 2020
The well-illustrated story of a Japanese athlete (Kinue Hitomi), an Olympic champion (Silver medalist in Amsterdam 1928) who, with her sporting achievements, helped change the perspective on women sports, and who, with her perseverance, kindness and sense of women's equality not only in sport, provoked a deep wave of sympathy and friendship in 1930 in what was then Czechoslovakia.
The book also features interviews with CSSR and Japanese athletes, who followed her legacy in the past (D. Zátopková, V. Cáslavská, A. Tacová, J. Arimori, J. Kratochvílová, Š. Kašpárková) and in the present (Z. Hejnová, N. Ogrodníková, A. Holasová, H. Kitaguchi). Their narratives are complemented by the views of personalities who present women's sporting achievements in historical and social contexts.
The book is illustrated with lots of period and contemporary photographs.
