Description |
Truly magnificent history of the so-called "VV De Zwaluwen" (The Swallows) which was in effect a sort of Dutch National Team before 1930 that also represented sometimes the national team, but also featured younger players or other players that were deemed to be ready for the national team to test them.
By today's standards you could consider them the B-team. They usually played international games against other national teams or foreign club teams a short time before the A-team would be selected to test some players, although on ocassion they also field a near complete A team.
They would only cease to exist in the sixties.
