The Italian Judo Fighting Karate Martial Arts Federation, or FIJLKAM, is the governing body for judo, wrestling, karate and martial arts in Italy. Organize the Italian championships for these disciplines.
Founded on 18 January 1902 as the Italian Athletic Federation (FAI) in Milan by the Marquis Luigi Monticelli Obizzi, it dealt first with Greco-Roman wrestling and weightlifting. In 1933 it became the Italian Heavy Athletics Federation (FIAP), in 1974 the Italian Federation of Weightlifting Judo (FILPJ, Italian Weightlifting and Judo Federation), then in 1995 with FILPJK karate.
In 2000, on the 1st of July, there was the separation of the combat sport weightlifting activities, with the birth of the Italian Weightlifting and Physical Culture Federation (FIPCF), now independent.
