The Football Club de Mulhouse is a football club from Mulhouse, the largest city in the French department of Haut-Rhin in Alsace (French: Alsace). The eventful recent history of the region, which was incorporated into Germany between 1870/71 and 1918 and from 1940 to 1944/45, is also reflected in the history of this club.
It was founded in 1893 as Fußball-Club Mülhausen 18933. It competed under this name until 1918 and again from 1940 to 1945 in the German league. In between and since being back part of France it has carried its current name.
